   Doberman. Ear cropping. Procedure
Articles about great Dobermans. Posted by Doberman-Dog-Breed-Store
When the ears are glued with plaster you should step back and look at them carefully. They must stand in the same fashion as after your removing the plaster. When Doberman puppy is excited, the between ears bridge made of plaster must slack a little in order the dog may turn with its ears if necessary. Do remember, that the bridge holds the ears thus preventing them from falling but ear muscles must hold the ears standing and not the bridge. Regularly examine the puppy’s ears. If 1-2 hours after the dog's ears were glued he becomes anxious because of this plaster covering the ears it means that you plastered too tightly around the base or top of the ear. Do check for edema, redness or signs of infection. Correct plastering does not put the dog to any inconveniences from the first minutes. The ears must remain plastered at a specified position for about one week then the bandage is to be changed. The ears must not sweep off, tighten at the edge. 7 days later you must remove the tampon and wash the ears up, ventilate them in the open air. If the ears already stand they must be left in this position independently for some time even for short period. Keep them unbandaged though for a day but never let both of them or even one ear fall.
